This classic children’s tale has been turned into a fun game for toddlers. Matching the pigs with their curly tails whilst trying to avoid the BIG BAD WOLF!!

Stig of the Dump

For Book Week in March I re-read Stig of the Dump by Clive King. One of my all time favourite childhood books.

It made me start sketching and possibly I might try and illustrate the whole story. It’ll be a good exercise and I really need the figure work discipline.

Chili Beer

I handle the design, branding and illustration requirements of several breweries.

This is a new one to the Hot Frog portfolio so I wanted to make an extra special effort when updating their range of wonderful chili beers and ciders.

Fire in the Hole, is by no means their hottest brew but hopefully the picture suggests your tongue is in for quite a treat if you opt for this refreshing drink this summer.

Broxbourne

Another couple of micro breweries joined the Hot Frog brewing portfolio last month. He’s the first of them, the exciting sounding Broxbourne Brewery – home of the crafty badger!
I tried out several run of the mill – almost cliched, ideas to get the creative juices rolling. I wasn’t getting anywhere meaningful but it’s often useful to exorcise the banal from the equation in this way, before you can ‘see through’ to the more promising ideas.
Then I had this vision of the the Moretti beer label with the old guy blowing the froth off his fresh glass of beer. I coupled this with a cheeky badger and sketched out the character and hey presto, Brox, the crafty badger was born.
Broxbourne and their sister brewery have some very strong ales in their repertoire and here’s hoping we’ll have a long and fruitful future together. Cheers to that.
Also shown below Broxbourne is the Fallen Angel Brewery, and some new artwork for some of their existing fiery chilli brews. The Black Death Stout is the hottest beer in the world, hence the warning!

Magnetic Pirates

Magnetic sticker pieces featuring characters, animals and themed objects for arranging on the fold-out scene/background.

So far I’ve created 6 sets for US company Interplay.

There are great fun to work on and a real pleasure to watch young children actually using them.
