Where DID the name come from?

Hot Frog Graphics' most visible work recently has been the illustration of mouthwatering foods and scrummy confectionary in a distinctive, super-realistic digital style.
I created Hot Frog way back in 1979, and it's now hard to believe that I got good results for clients such as Athena and Scandecor, by blasting filtered, compressed air through a mini pot of real, wet ink which subsequently atomised into eyes, hair and lungs before finally arriving onto a masked out artboard!
Swapping paint for pixels was the best decision I ever made and I now move light about for a living – selling arrangements of pixels to clients such as Nestle, Asda, Marks & Spencer, BHS, Panasonic, Toblerone, Warner Brothers and Electrolux.
I still produce postcards and posters, design book covers, brochures and corporate identities and have the occasional children's picture book in production. I also have the ambiguous pleasure of having to eat loads of chocolate, buckets of ice cream and sample whole crates of different beers!
Which means that if you ring me and find you are speaking to my answerphone I'm either hard at work pushing pixels around or, if the weather is favourable, working even harder pushing mountain bike pedals, as I desperately try and burn off some of those calories. I look forward to hearing from you.
